                             Riverside Update

Many of you were aware that we had a Planning Appeal this week to keep Riverside MX open.  We have just endured 3 days at the Appeal which was stressfull, tedious and sometimes amusing.  Anyway we feel, as a team we put forward a good sound case to the Inspector but we now have to wait approx 5 weeks for his decision.   As a team, we include you as well because with your overwhelming support ie emails, letters and signing the petition you have all shown the Inspector how much Riverside is needed.
A special thank you to the ones that were able to support us by attending and speaking (unplanned) at the Appeal.

Riverside is open for business as usual until a decision is reached and we will keep you updated of this decision as soon as we know.

Thank you everyone once again.

Kindest regards,
Rachel, Laurence, James and Michael and all at Riverside

News From East Trax

The gates will now be closed at 11.00pm so don't travel to late hoping to get in unless you ring in advance.

Also from next season they will be charging a camping fee of £5 but will be providing a BMX track for the kids to use and a selection of play equipment.

Appeal for help.

We are looking for a person or persons to assist with the movement of equipment i.e Start gate etc. from one track to another in between meetings. If anyone is able to help please contact the club.

It has come to the attention of the committee that there is an increasing problem with under age drinking at events the night before race meetings when people are camping over. Anyone under age found with drinking alcohol is risking losing there ride. Also we would like to remind all people attending the meetings please stay within the paddock areas and don't be tempted to roam into other fields or farm yards. This is not only for your safety but to prevent up setting land owners and them stopping us from riding tracks on there land. Thank You.

Numbers & Backgrounds are always an issue with the lap scores. Please be aware incorrect Background Colours or unclear numbers my result in your positions being calculated incorrectly.

2nd Feb 2008/Its that time of year when the New season is nearly upon us and when we start to brush away the winter cobwebs from our bikes. Please don't forget to get those exhausts repacked as once again we will be feeling the pressure to keep noise to a minimum  and testing will be carried out!!!!!

I am the motocross secretary at Norfolk & Suffolk Junior Motorcycle Club.

Our club members have had 17 bikes stolen this year.  Alot have been recovered from thetford, and ones which have not been recovered are more than likely in Thetford.  The police are aware who is doing these robberies and 4 have been charged recently,  unfortunately this does not stop them.  As all the thefts are from our club we think it could be a club member feeding information to the gang.

Today I had a call from Thetford police and Icksworth Police, warnings us that they have had a tip off the gang from Thetford are planning robberies over the next few days.

Please warning your members, the police think people are being followed from meeting or practice tracks.

Regards

Tracey Hales

Notice. Any rider who dose not collect their trophy by the following meeting with not receive it as it will be recycled by the club.

Noise!!! To all riders. Noise pollution has become a big issue within the sport at the moment. EASSC is committed to help reduce the noise levels. We will be observing bikes and will request riders who the committee believe are exceeding the noise level to take action for the following meeting. Riders can either:-

1.Repack their silencers.

2. Fit an insert into the silencer, available from Racer MX.

3.Purchase an after market silencer which has been certified by the manufacturer as being proved to be 94dbs or less.

All CRF  150machines must be fitted with either an insert of an after market silencer of 94dbs or less before passing scrutineering.

This is in force as from now. Darren Rogers (Club Chairman)

Noise Testing.

Trackside testing has been carried out on our last meetings with some surprising results. Most of the bikes gave reasonable results, Not perfect but much better than had been expected. The biggest surprise of the day was that all the 4 strokes were relatively quite. There were a number of bikes that registered high db readings and all were 2 strokes and these riders have been informed individually.

Please Remember to repack your exhaust regularly and don't forget that there are different packing that are very effective.

Please Be aware of the following.

Last season there was some confusion with this ruling and protest were being placed after meetings. If you have reason to make a protect please follow the simple rule below.

Protests are to be made to the Clerk of the Course within 30 minutes of the end of the race or from the time the results are posted if the protest concerns the result.  If you are unhappy with his decision an application in writing can be made to the Stewards of the Meeting which must be accompanied by a payment of £25 and lodged with the Secretary of the Meeting. Under no circumstances will any protest be considered that is outside the 30 minute time limit.

Sound testing !!!!

Once again the rules have been tightened and the upper sound limit is now 94 db, so while you are getting your bikes ready for the season please be sure to repack those silencers. We will be having to again in force this during the 2007 season with track side testing. So you have been warned.

Generators!

We would like to politely remind everyone camping overnight at meetings that all generators should be turned off by 11.00pm at the latest. Anyone ignoring this club rule will be asked to leave and lose there ride. Please remember we are primarily a schoolboy club and young riders do need there sleep to ride safely...........

Marshalling:- As many of you will know marshalling is a critical part of our sport and for some time now we have struggled with the putting away of the track at the end of each meeting, As many choose this as a soft option and slope off before doing there duty making a mockery of those of you who for fill there required duty. If has now been decided that from now on all those signing on for putting the track away will have to surrender there riders racing licence until the duty is complete.
